About me

I started as an FE Lecturer in 2001 having worked at bluechip companies since I was 19. I have experience teaching units in Digital Graphics, Multimedia & Computer Animation on our BTEC Level 3 IT Practitioner courses and am now teaching Social Media in Business, Presentation software and Collaboration using IT. I have been blending my units for the last 6 years and more recently rolled out the use of Microsoft Teams to our Digital Computing Team. The success of this during COVID has resulted in my provider, rolling out Teams to the rest of the college.

I'm proud to have just been awarded Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for 2020/21 and look forward to the year ahead, supporting staff in my organisation but also worldwide in helping them use the Microsoft Office 365 suite to deliver their lessons.

Loving new technology and how it can help in education and business makes me a geekette and I enjoy using technology innovatively to teach. My iPad is always with me, it is an extension of my brain.

During the summer break, I have completed a variety of courses including my Adobe Creative Educator Level 1 and I've also passed my Adobe Creative Associate - Visual Design Using Adobe Photoshop exam.






I have returned though, to an analogue method of keeping track of tasks, notes and events using my Bullet Journal, this also allows me to embed my creative side.

In my spare time, I adore cooking, growing vegetables organically as the flavour is unbeatable, we also try and buy from our local farm shops whenever possible. To relax we enjoy foraging in the countryside, free food is great, especially when made into preserves.

Technology isn't just for work, Geocaching uses technology to get us out into the fresh air, find places we never knew existed and also find "treasure", if the countryside is too wet, then there's always Munzee hunting.
