Assessment

Formative Assessment

To check whether learning has taken place, we need to track what students now understand, but more importantly, where there are gaps in that knowledge so that we can recap or reteach that material.

Here is a collection of the different sites I have used or mentioned throughout my blogs. If you know of any other suitable sites, please let me know and I'll happily investigate and share.

Forms (Microsoft)

Can be used on their own or as an assignment in MS Teams. It can be auto marked as a quiz and feed into the grade book on Teams. There is an amazing maths option to help you create questions and their distractor answers. Also, Forms questions can be added to a Microsoft Stream video at points throughout, checking knowledge as the student watches. All results are downloadable automatically formatted in Excel.

Goformative

Formative assignments, assessments and homework automagically display student work as-it-happens and keep track of student growth. I've used this when working with Level 1 students and created a quiz that overlayed a printout of a blank email with questions appearing in each section. A great way to check learning as it happens.

Gooru (previously Exit Ticket)

The Learning Navigator is a free, online tool that offers personalized pathways to help students reach their learning goals.

Kahoot

Quizizz
